Glacier Outdoor Center hosted the location for the Federation of Fly Fisher’s Two Day Women’s Fly Fishing Program.
Seventeen women from across the US met here last Wednesday and Thursday for 2 pack days of all topics fly fishing. I co-chaired the program and packed the curriculum with topics ranging from casting and equipment to aquatic insects and trout biology. Jim Vashro was our fabulous guest teacher, instructing on fish ID, reading regulations, care of fish dead and alive, and trout biology. The program seems to be one of the most successful ever for the FFF; the organization had to turn away dozens of women wanting to register for the class. Due to the success of this class I will offer a similar all women’s class through our company next summer.
